Our President Paolo Pettinaroli has just been informed that he will receive Milan's prestigious Gold Ambrogino Award.
The ceremony, which is open to the public, will be held at 10:30 a.m.
on December 7 at the Dal Verme Theater.

AMBROGINO D’ORO AWARDED TO THE PRESIDENT OF FONDAZIONE 8 OTTOBRE 2001. PETTINAROLI: “I AM DEEPLY TOUCHED AND HONORED: IT GIVES ME THE ENERGY TO CONTINUE”
Milan, November 27, 2008 – The City of Milan has awarded the Ambrogino D’Oro gold medal, the highest honor of the city for civic merit, to Paolo Pettinaroli, the President of Fondazione 8 Ottobre 2001.
“I am deeply touched and honored to receive this totally unexpected and unhoped-for award from the city of Milan,” said the president of the foundation composed of the relatives of the 118 victims of the Linate Airport accident that occurred in 2001.
“I want to dedicate this award to everyone who has offered us their support and have worked with me to achieve our objective to improve air transportation safety,” he added.
The President’s thoughts therefore go to Comitato 8 Ottobre 2001 members and the technical members of the Technical Task Force formed by the Foundation in 2004, and to public and private institutions, politicians, and journalists.
“This award gives me the energy to continue with renewed enthusiasm,” concluded Paolo Pettinaroli.
The award will be presented during a ceremony held at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 7, at Teatro dal Verme in Milan. The ceremony is open to the public, and many Comitato 8 Ottobre 2001 members will attend.
