THE PROGRAM FOR OUR DAYS
As promised, here are the program for our days:
Thursday October 7th, 2004
Fondazione 8 Ottobre 2001 conference
Dear Friends,
As you know, “Fondazione 8 ottobre 2001” has been established.
This apolitical, independent, nonprofit foundation was created to undertake and implement all activities and projects to promote valid and concrete actions for the achievement of air transportation safety and an improvement of flight safety.
Our first step has been to organize an international conference entitled:
Can air crashes be avoided?
Government duties and responsibilities
Professor James Reason, one of the world’s leading air safety experts, will be joined by top ranking officials of Italy’s aeronautic industry (see program on our website.
Many experts in Italy and several from abroad have already sent in their participation form.
Of course, the Linate tragedy will be the focus of the conference and provide an opportunity to discuss air safety in detail. Guests can ask the speakers questions and call for clear answers and solutions.
Documents will be published at the conclusion of the conference that will indicate all promises made, and a review of the current situation will be made at the following conference
If you would like to attend, please contact the Committee by September 28, 2004.
I’ll be looking forward to seeing you. Best regards,
Paolo Pettinaroli
THIS IS THE PROGRAM FOR THE 3° MEMORIAL DAY 2004
Dear friends,
We have organized several moments for this third anniversary to remember the tragedy that struck us three years ago.
The city of Milan has named a street in a new residential area of the Rogoredo district in memory of the Linate tragedy. We are honored and deeply moved by this gesture. We therefore have decided to organize our day as follows:
10:30 a.m. Holy Mass in the Santa Maria delle Grazie Basilica, officiated by Auxiliary Bishop Monsignor Angelo Mascheroni.
If you wish to travel to the Basilica by subway, the stations are Conciliazione or Pagano (Red Line 1). The closest parking lot to the Basilica is near the Pagano subway station (Via Giotto/Via Cherubini).
11:30 a.m. Departure from the Basilica to VIA 8 OTTOBRE.
12:00 p.m. Inauguration of Via 8 Ottobre, in memory of the Linate tragedy.
12:30 p.m. Visit to the Bosco dei Faggi memorial site. There will be no ceremony or speeches, and it will be a reserved private visit.
1:00 p.m. Lunch (reservation only) or return to the parking lot or subway station.
A coach service will be provided for these destinations: From the Basilica to Via 8 Ottobre – From Via 8 Ottobre to the Bosco dei Faggi memorial site – From the Bosco dei Faggi memorial site to the Restaurant and from the Bosco dei Faggi memorial site to the Pagano parking lot and the Pagano and Conciliazione subway stations.
If you plan to attend, please contact the Committee by Friday, October 1, and let us know:
1)the number of participants; 2) if coach transportation is required; 3) reservations for the restaurant.
Thank you for your attention.
