Comitato 8 Ottobre - Per non dimenticare

The program of our 10th anniversary

Dear Friends,

In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of that immense tragedy that struck us, we want to spend this day of remembrance and contemplation together, surrounded by the great love and affection that unites us.

Here is the program for the ceremonies:

Saturday, October 8

  • 8:10 a.m. Ceremony at Linate Airport (only for family members of the victims)
  • 10:00 a.m. Holy Mass at the Duomo of Milan.
    • Cardinal Angelo Scola, Archbishop of Milan, will celebrate the Mass.
    • Music will be performed by the Choir of the Duomo of Milan.
  • 11:00 a.m. Transfer by bus for the visit to Bosco dei Faggi. After flowers are laid on the markers and the candle is lit, Milan Mayor Giuliano Pisapia, Lombardy Region President Roberto Formigoni, SAS President Mats Jansson, and SEA President Giuseppe Bonomi will speak.

A moment of silence will follow.

For the 10th anniversary of the accident, journalist Fabrizio Tumolillo wrote the lyrics of a song “A saperlo prima” [If I only knew beforehand] by singer-songwriter Riccardo Maffoni.

Riccardo will perform the song for the first time at Bosco dei Faggi.

As usual, SEA is actively involved in organizing this commemoration and will provide the buses for everyone that morning.
